Multi-scale Built Environment and Human Behaviors  

Increasingly, urban planners, neuroscientists, and public health practitioners have become interested in aspects of the built environment which may constrain people’s behaviors. The case study has focused on how the multi-scale built environment, from neighborhood effect to the polycentric structure of metropolitan areas, may foster effective physical activity, travel behaviors, and adequate sleep.
